At the same time, some sellers assured that the books were bought at Litres, and were also convinced that they could sell them to someone else.
“I bought this book at Litres. It seems to me that this is quite logical, because if I bought a book in a printed edition, I could then sell it or donate it. She becomes my property! ”, - said Anastasia, one of the users of the service.
As the general director of Litres Sergey Anuryev explained, such a scheme appeared a year and a half ago. However, it does not fall under the current anti-piracy legislation, since the ads do not contain files or links to them. Publishers and copyright holders can only voluntarily remove private listings for the sale of e-books and rely on understanding.
And the director of the Association for the Protection of Rights on the Internet, Maxim Ryabyko, clarified that it is possible to prosecute for the sale of counterfeit goods only if the sale is worth more than 100 rubles.
“But we do not want to use such harsh methods yet and we expect that the platforms will meet us halfway and will delete such messages,” he said. And he immediately admitted that the procedure for communicating with the services is still very slow.
In particular, Avito does not control or review ads. Yula and VK are more efficient, as they belong to the Mail.ru Group. In addition, existing legislation obliges the services to monitor the presence of copyright infringements. Otherwise, blocking will follow.
