Published new release SAS.Planet, a free program for viewing and downloading high-resolution satellite images and regular maps provided by services such as Google Earth, Google Maps, Bing Maps, DigitalGlobe, Kosmosnimki, Yandex.maps, Yahoo! Maps, VirtualEarth, Gurtam, OpenStreetMap, eAtlas, iPhone maps, General Staff maps, etc. Unlike the mentioned services, all downloaded maps remain in the local system and can be viewed even without an Internet connection. In addition to satellite maps, it is possible to work with political, landscape, combined maps, as well as a map of the Moon and Mars. The program is written in Pascal and spreads licensed under GPLv3. The assembly is supported only for Windows, but on Linux and FreeBSD the program fully works under Wine.

Changes in the new version include:

  • Added display of heights according to ALOS AW3D30 version 3.1;
  • {sas_path} substitution has been added to the function of creating a url from a template;
  • By default, card sorting by name is enabled;
  • Added replacement of " " with "%20" to the function of getting URL from a template;
  • Now you can manually limit the text length of the label pop-up window;
  • Changed default network engine from WinInet to cURL;
  • Fixed several bugs.
