CoreBoot 26.06, a project developing a free alternative to proprietary firmware and BIOS, has been released. The project's code is distributed under the GPLv2 license. The new version includes 1163 changes prepared with the participation of 101 developers, 22 of whom are new to the project.

- AMD chips now support the A/B Recovery mechanism, which ensures that a backup copy is saved during firmware updates to load the old firmware if the new version fails to boot or if there are issues with firmware integrity verification. The ability to boot from a second Flash chip and preserve the recovery flag between reboots has been added. The amdfwtool and amdfwread utilities now support directory splitting and A/B partition parsing.
- Advanced charge and battery management features have been implemented for boards based on Qualcomm chips, such as Google Blue and Calypso. These include: smooth transition from slow to fast charging, temperature monitoring, battery-free boot mode, and optimized power delivery to NVMe devices.
- Support for devices based on Intel Haswell and Broadwell chips has been expanded. Support code for Haswell and Broadwell platforms has been unified, and common graphics initialization has been implemented. Initial support for Broadwell chip variants for PCs has been added. An undervolting driver has been added, and PL1/PL2 power limits have been redefined. Support has been added for ASUS motherboards based on Haswell chips, such as the Maximus VI/VII, Z87-K, and H81M-K.
- The Intel FSP 2.0 driver adds support for the Zstd compression algorithm.
- The ability to include multiple logo images with different resolutions has been provided to display them depending on the screen resolution.
- Work on adapting the code to support the C23 standard continued.
- Updated versions of GCC 15.2.0, NASM 3.01, binutils 2.45.1 and ACPICA 20251212.
