βThe Gonets satellite system (part of the Roscosmos state corporation) announces the opening of four new regional branches on the territory of the Russian Federation.
It is reported that each of the branches will host one regional station of the Gonets-D1M multifunctional personal satellite communication system. Its main purpose is to transmit data and provide mobile satellite communication services to subscribers on a global scale using a constellation of spacecraft in low orbits.
The operating stations of the system are located in Moscow, Zheleznogorsk in the Krasnoyarsk Territory and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. New sites will be located in Murmansk, Rostov-on-Don, Norilsk and Anadyr.
The commissioning of four additional stations will improve the quality of satellite communication services provided for data transmission. In particular, the time it takes to deliver information to consumers will be reduced.
Let us add that the Gonets-D1M constellation consists of Gonets-M low-orbit spacecraft. In addition to providing satellite communications, the system allows solving such problems as environmental, industrial and scientific monitoring.
