Only every tenth user prefers legal content

A study conducted by ESET suggests that the vast majority of Internet users continue to prefer pirated materials.

Only every tenth user prefers legal content

The survey showed that 75% of users refuse legal content because of its high price. Another disadvantage of legal services is their incomplete range - this was indicated by every third (34%) respondent. Approximately 16% of respondents reported an inconvenient payment system. Finally, a quarter of Internet users refuse to pay for a license for ideological reasons.

In addition, the survey organizers found out what pirated content was most often consumed by Internet users (respondents could choose several options). It turned out that 52% of respondents download β€œhacked” games. About 43% watch unlicensed films and TV series, and 34% listen to music using illegal services.

Another 19% of respondents admitted that they install pirated programs. About 14% of users download pirated books.

And only one in tenβ€”9%β€”of Internet users say they always pay for a license.
