Fraudsters have started using new ways to steal from bank cards

Reportedly, the fraudster called a resident of Moscow on the phone. Introducing himself as a bank security officer, he said that money was being debited from her card, and in order to block the process, she urgently needed to apply for an online loan for 90 thousand rubles with the entire amount credited to her debit card, and then transfer it in parts through an ATM to three bank accounts. As a result, the woman lost 90 thousand rubles.

A day earlier, Izvestia reported on another method of fraud, which was described in Sberbank. In this case, attackers track the transfers of citizens who make transactions from a bank card to a virtual one using online services. The user enters the details of his card and the virtual one, after which an SMS with a confirmation code is sent to his phone. Then the scammers call, posing as an employee, asking you to confirm the transfer and give the confirmation code. After which the client’s money is in their hands.

It should be noted that fraudsters try to choose virtual cards of electronic services that have less protection than banks.
