Released in mid-February for the fantasy role-playing game Baldur's Gate 3 from Belgian Larian Studios tiny patch fixed the broken saves, but resulted in new problems for users.
According to Larian, the February patch for Baldur's Gate 3 caused a number of performance issues that resulted in game crashes. The developers thanked users for their patience and presented correction.
Update 4.1.1.7209685 has now been released on all target platforms for Baldur's Gate 3, bringing with it fixes for the aforementioned frame rate drop, a number of crashes, and critical bugs.
Specifically, the patch fixed a bug that prevented Baldur's Gate 3 users on Mac computers from progressing beyond the character creation stage in the hardcore Valor mode.
The patch is about 100 MB in size, but Baldur's Gate 3 users have to download tens of gigabytesβthe fix affects many files that need to be redownloaded.

Baldur's Gate 3 is out on PC (Steam, GOG), Mac, PS5, Xbox Series X and S. Since its release in August 2023, the RPG has earned over 280 Game of the Year awards (including five leading awards) and sold in quantities over 20 million copies.
Since its debut, Baldur's Gate 3 has received a number of major updates - final big patch was released last spring. Larian, meanwhile, is already working on its next big RPG, Divinity.
