Firefox 95.0.1 update fixes issue opening microsoft.com sites

A correction release of Firefox 95.0.1 is available that fixes several bugs:

  • We've resolved an issue that prevented many Microsoft websites from opening, including www.microsoft.com, docs.microsoft.com, msdn.microsoft.com, support.microsoft.com, answers.microsoft.com, developer.microsoft.com, and visualstudio.microsoft.com. When attempting to open these sites, the browser displayed a page with the error message MOZILLA_PKIX_ERROR_OCSP_RESPONSE_FOR_CERT_MISSING. The issue is caused by an error in the implementation of the OCSP Stapling mechanism used by the hosting site. server During the TLS connection negotiation phase, a certificate authority (CA)-certified OCSP (Online Certificate Status Protocol) response containing certificate validity information can be transmitted. The issue arose because Microsoft switched to using SHA-2 hashes in OCSP responses, while Firefox did not support messages with such hashes (the transition to a new version of NSS that supports SHA-2 in OCSP was planned for Firefox 96).
  • Fixed a crash in the WebRender subsystem that occurred in Linux-environments based on the X11 protocol.
  • Fixed crashes when shutting down Windows.
  • For Linux- We've resolved issues with some websites becoming unreadable due to a loss of contrast when using a dark theme (the browser adapted the background color to the dark theme but didn't change the text color, resulting in dark text appearing on a dark background).
