The Pulse Browser project develops an experimental fork of Firefox

A new web browser, Pulse Browser, is available for testing, built on the Firefox codebase and experimenting with ideas to improve usability and build a minimalistic interface. Builds are generated for Linux, Windows, and macOS platforms. The code is distributed under the MPL 2.0 license.

The browser is notable for cleaning the code from components related to the collection and sending of telemetry, and replacing some typical features with third-party open analogues. For example, the uBlock Origin ad blocker has been added to the base package to counter movement tracking. Also included is a QR Code Generator add-on to generate QR codes with links to sites, and a Tabliss add-on with an alternative custom implementation of the page shown when opening a new tab.

Pulse Browser uses Betterfox settings optimizations to improve privacy, security, and performance. Disabled additional services such as Pocket, accessibility tools, Firefox Sync and Firefox View. The interface includes a sidebar for quick access to the tools and sections of interest to the user, such as settings, bookmarks, and browsing history. Under the address bar, by default, there is a panel with the most requested bookmarks. Panels are made narrower and take up less space on the screen.
