Netflix has not yet announced a release date for The Witcher series, based on the universe of the same name created by Andrzej Sapkowski, and gained worldwide fame thanks to The Witcher games from CD Projekt RED. But it looks like the show will start in December as expected earlier.
Yes, you read that right, there will be a red carpet premiere on December 16. As with that other big fantasy show, these premieres show only the first episode.
So the release date for everyone else is definitely December 17?

At least at MCM Comic Con in London, a poster was recently spotted advertising a Witcher-related competition. The winner is promised to receive a pair of tickets to the premiere screening of the series, scheduled for December 16. This is a clear hint that the show will be available on the Netflix streaming service the very next day - December 17th.
This isn't the first time we've heard December 17th as the series' release date. Back in September, information about the upcoming shows was published on the official Netflix Facebook page, which, among other things, reported that there were 97 days left before the launch of The Witcher (at the time of publication, the countdown was estimated to end on December 17). There have been hints that the show might arrive on the streaming service sooner, on November 1st, but that's definitely not the case for now. Although Netflix promises to launch the first season in 2019, there is no specific release date yet.
By the way, Netflix recently released a set of stills from the upcoming series. In the footage you can see Geralt himself, Cirilla and Yennefer. As already reported, the role of Geralt will be played by actor Henry Cavill. Yennefer will be played by Anya Chalotra, and Ciri will be played by Freya Allan. In addition, in one of the images one could see the claws of the monster from the series. Also captured were action scenes, Roach and some interiors.
From what is currently known, we can conclude that the live-action series will be based primarily on the books in the Witcher Saga series, and not on the games. Therefore, the serial Geralt is noticeably different from the main character of CD Projekt RED action role-playing films. In addition, there will be other features: for example, Geralt in the series only has one sword on his back, and not two. In the meantime, fans of the universe awaiting the launch can pass the time by checking out the images presented.
