The CoMaps project, a fork of the Organic Maps app for offline navigation using OpenStreetMap data, has published release 2025.06.30 and has placed ready-made builds in the F-Droid, Google Play, and Apple App Store catalogs. For the platform Android Releases are also available for direct download in APK format. The project code is distributed under the Apache 2.0 license.
The fork is being developed according to the principles of openness, transparency and collaboration. The project is focused on conducting only non-commercial activities, accountability to the community and satisfying the interests of the community. The key principles of the application development are: orientation to work in offline mode, concern for privacy (work without identification of the person and without data collection), efficient energy consumption and compact size, free and no advertising.
Main changes in CoMaps 2025.06.30-22:
- For Android Added automatic backup function for tags and tracks.
- Added contour lines of heights with a step of 100 m for all regions where lines with this step were absent.
- OpenStreetMap map data updated to current status as of June 22.
- Updated icons for bus, tram, train and metro stops.
