Release LMDE 4 "Debbie"

Release announced March 20 LMDE 4 "Debbie". This release includes all features Linux Mint 19.3.

LMDE (Linux Mint Debian Edition) is a Linux Mint project to ensure the continuation of Linux Mint and estimate labor costs in the event of the end of Ubuntu Linux. LMDE is also one of the purposes of builds to ensure compatibility of Linux Mint software outside of Ubuntu.

The following new capabilities and distinctive features are noted:

  • Automatic partitioning with support for LVM and full disk encryption.
  • Support for automatic installation of NVIDIA drivers.
  • Support for NVMe, SecureBoot, btrfs subvolumes.
  • Home directory encryption.
  • Improved and redesigned system installer.
  • Automatic installation of microcode updates.
  • Automatic resolution increase to 1024x768 in live sessions in VirtualBox.
  • APT recommendations are enabled by default.
  • Removed packages and deb-multimedia repository.
  • Package base is used Debian 10 Buster with a backport repository.
