The Glibc developer community has implemented a code of conduct

The Glibc developer community has announced the adoption of a Code of Conduct, which defines the rules for communication of participants on mailing lists, bugzilla, wiki, IRC and other project resources. The Code is seen as a tool for enforcement when discussions go beyond the bounds of decency, as well as a way to notify management of offensive behavior by participants. The Code will also help newcomers figure out how to behave and what kind of attitude they should expect. At the same time, a search for volunteers willing to take part in the work of the committee responsible for analyzing complaints and resolving conflict situations is announced.

The adopted code welcomes friendliness and tolerance, goodwill, attentiveness, respectful attitude, accuracy in statements, and the desire to delve into the details of what is happening when disagreeing with someone’s point of view. The project emphasizes openness to all participants, regardless of their level of knowledge and qualifications, race, gender, culture, national origin, color, social status, sexual orientation, age, marital status, political beliefs, religion or physical ability.
