SpliX 2.0.2 driver release for Samsung, Xerox, and HP laser printers

More than two years since the previous release, SpliX 2.0.2 has been released. It develops a driver for laser printers from Samsung, Xerox, and HP that integrates with the CUPS print server. These printers support the SPL (Samsung Printer Language) page description language. This language processes documents on the user's computer before printing, and then sends the final layout to the printer. SPL2 and SPLc-compatible printers are supported, including almost all low-cost Samsung laser printers and some models from Xerox, Dell, Lexmark, HP, and Toshiba based on Samsung technology. The driver code is written in C++ and is distributed under the GPLv2 license.

In the new version:

  • Added support for the following printer series:
    • HP Laser 10x, HP Laser MFP 13x,
    • Samsung SL-M2020, SL-M2070
    • Samsung ML-1670, ML-1860,
    • Samsung SCX-3400,
    • Samsung M262x 282x, M267x 287x, M283x
    • Xerox Phaser 3020, 3052, 3260,
    • Xerox WorkCentre 3025, 3215, 3225.
  • Ported identifiers (1284DeviceID) for Samsung and Xerox printers from Fedora Linux.
  • Added support for duplex mode on the Samsung SCX-4521F printer.
  • Support for additional page sizes has been added to the ULD driver.
  • Resolved an issue with printing on A5 sheets of paper on Samsung ML-15x0, ML-16x0, ML-17x0, ML-225x, and Phaser 3117 printers.
