qBittorrent 4.2 release

Submitted by torrent client release qBittorrent 4.2.0, written using the Qt toolkit and developed as an open alternative to µTorrent, close to it in terms of interface and functionality. Among the features of qBittorrent: an integrated search engine, the ability to subscribe to RSS, support for many BEP extensions, remote management via a web interface, sequential download in a given order, advanced settings for torrents, peers and trackers, a bandwidth scheduler and an IP filter, interface for creating torrents, support for UPnP and NAT-PMP.

In the new version:

  • The PBKDF2 algorithm is used to hash passwords for the screen lock and access to the web interface;
  • Icon conversion to SVG format completed;
  • Added the ability to change the interface style using QSS style sheets;
  • Added "Tracker entries" dialog;
  • At the first start, a random selection of the port number is provided;
  • Implemented transition to Super Seeding mode after the time limit and traffic intensity are exhausted;
  • Improved the implementation of the built-in tracker, which now better complies with the BEP (BitTorrent Enhancement Proposal) specifications;
  • Added an option to align a file to a block boundary when creating a new torrent;
  • Added support for opening a file or calling a torrent by pressing Enter;
  • Added the ability to delete a torrent and related files after the specified limit is reached;
  • Now you can select several items at once in the dialog with the list of blocked IPs;
  • Returned the ability to pause the check of torrents and force a re-check of completely unstarted torrents;
  • Added file preview command activated by double click;
  • Added support for libtorrent 1.2.x and stopped working with versions less than 1.1.10.
