The Linux kernel offers the ability to monitor system overcooling

A handler has been proposed for inclusion in the Linux kernel to respond to system overcooling. Linux is quite often used for embedded systems, where in addition to overheating, the ability to monitor system overcooling deserves attention, so new checkpoints THERMAL_TRIP_COLD and HERMAL_TRIP_CRITICAL_COLD (analogues of HERMAL_TRIP_HOT and THERMAL_TRIP_CRITICAL) were added to the Thermal subsystem, allowing you to call handlers not when overheating, but when overcooling. As one of the options for responding to hypothermia, it is proposed, for example, to increase the frequency and voltage in order to increase the temperature to heat the device.
