A study conducted by International Data Corporation (IDC) suggests that demand for gaming-grade computer devices is growing globally.
The statistics take into account the supply of gaming desktop and laptop computers, as well as gaming-grade monitors.
It is reported that this year, total shipments of products in these categories will reach 42,1 million units. This would correspond to an increase of 8,2% compared to 2018.
In the gaming desktop PC segment, sales are expected to reach 15,5 million units. The sector will show a 1,9 percent year-on-year decline.
At the same time, consumers are increasingly purchasing gaming laptops. Here, growth of 13,3% is predicted, and the volume of the segment in 2019 will reach 20,1 million units.
As for gaming monitors, their shipments will amount to 6,4 million units - plus 21,3% compared to last year.
From 2019 to 2023, the CAGR (compound annual growth rate) is projected to be 9,8%. As a result, in 2023 the total market size of gaming computer devices will be 61,1 million units. Of these, 19,0 million will come from desktop systems, 31,5 million from gaming laptops, and 10,6 million from monitors.
