The release of Tizen Studio 6.0, SDK and development environment for creating, assembling, debugging and profiling mobile applications for the Tizen platform using Web API and Native API, is presented. The development environment is built on the basis of the latest release of the Eclipse platform, has a modular architecture and allows you to select and install only the necessary functionality at the installation stage or through a special package manager. Plugins for development using the VS Code editor and the Visual Studio integrated environment are also provided.
Tizen Studio includes a set of Tizen-based device emulators (smartphone, TV, smart watch emulator), a set of examples for learning, tools for developing applications in C / C ++ and using web technologies, components to provide support for new platforms, system applications and drivers, utilities for building applications for Tizen RT (a variant of Tizen based on the RTOS kernel), tools for creating applications for smart watches and TVs.
In the new version:
- Added profile to support Tizen 9.0 platform. Deprecated profiles for Tizen versions older than 6.0.
- An Issue Reporter program has been added to the SDK.
- Platform support has been added to the Tizen Studio development environment and utilities. Windows 11.
- In addition to the Visual Studio Code editor, the Tizen Activity panel, monitoring tools (Device Monitoring) and a welcome page have been added. The capabilities for developing web applications for TVs on the Tizen platform have been implemented, including the TV Web Simulator emulator. For applications based on the Native API, tools for unit testing and identifying errors when working with memory (AddressSanitizer and LeakSanitizer) are provided. Support for developing applications using the .NET platform has been improved, diagnostic utilities have been added (GCDump, Dump, Trace). For applications based on the Web API, the ability to use WebAssembly has been provided.
- Visual Studio add-ons now include tools for unit testing, coverage testing, and detecting errors when working with memory. The context menu now includes an option to install applications directly to an external device based on the Tizen platform.
